Ice cream from Snowberry in Indian soon

American ice-cream retailer Snowberry has announced that it would invest $50 million by 2010 to start its business in India to be known as Snowberry India Private Limited (SIP). The new entity will expand though franchising.
The plan is to have 50 outlets in Delhi and the Delhi region by the end of March 2009. “India is one of the key markets for Snowberry in its global expansion agenda,” Robert F Barker, president, Snowberry USA said. The company which is present in the US mainly at in the East and West coastal areas, has a presence already in Korea and plans to enter not only India, but also China, South Africa, Taiwan and Philippines.
The Indian market for ice cream is dominated so far by a few Indian players like Mother Dairy, Kwality and Amul.
